Infrared temperature sensors, non-contact, absorb ambient infrared radiation given off by a heated surface. The incoming light is converted to an electric signal, which corresponds to a particular temperature. Infrared temperature sensors, non-contact are useful in a variety of applications where direct temperature measurement is not possible.
